Breaking: Liverpool has already fulfilled their promise to the family of late Diogo Jota.

 

Three months ago , when the Liverpool’s player , Diogo Jota and his brother , Andrew made a deadly accident on July 03.2025 in Spain and died, the team had announced that they will help the remaining Jota’s family to accept his death, and that they will still pay his family his remaining salary on his left contract.

Diogo Jota’s family have been paid the full £14.5M that was left of the tragic striker’s contract.

Jota’s weekly wage was around £140,000 a week, with two years remaining of the deal that was due to expire in 2027.

The death of D.Jota had touched every football supporters, it was seen at his post-death reactions from different people, his teammates, coaches, clubs.

The Liverpool’s act to pay the €14.5 to the left family, is another sign that , although football is the game, it is also the family, a player is not there to play and go , without leaving unshakeable and memorable story, the discipline of Jota is one of culprits for every interesting post-death reactions to his death. Diogo Jota’s family have been paid his full £140k-a-week contract.

Boss Arne Slot confirmed that the contract would be honoured by club owners Fenway Sports Group, saying: “Maybe people think it’s normal, but it is not in football.
