Today , on social platforms in Rwanda , there are circulating video of a woman who introduces herself as Esperance Nyiramajyambere, in a video asking a journalist to help them in advocacy to be given back their money of a pond. In video she says:” H.E Paul Kagame, every my audience leaders, my name is Esperance Nyiramajyambere, a daughter of ( sorry we cannot use the word she mentioned in that video it is not clear for some readers) , I thanked you for you provided us with shelters we are no longer be wetted by rain through the roofs, however this time too arrange us , we are very hungry….. Look how these people can get their pond money, for they strived for it, and then so , how we strived for it then you used it for yourselves, and you drink it in alcohol?” …… “This radio comes at the right time, but for myself , perhaps I’m hungry.”

Even if , the video was made in three(3) years ago, the terms ” perhaps I’m hungry”, ” pay us our pond money “, the terms have been revived ,and now are circulating on social platforms in Rwanda. This caused people to want to know , who was that woman in that video.

As she said in that video, her name is Esperance Nyiramajyambere, and the news has been known that she came from Musanze district in the Nother province of Rwanda, in Muhoza sector.

And as it has been said by her own daughter, Esperance Nyiramajyambere is passing three years out of life.

Consolèe Mutuyimana , the first daughter of late Esperance Nyiramajyambere, has said that , they didn’t know that their mother’s video asking for advocacy has become famous on social medias, and too she confirmed the news that has been speculating that their mother might have died. She confirmed it, where she said that their mother died in 2022 March 03, where she was died from Heptic Carcinoma ( liver cancer) which she was suffering in time of three(3) months.

Sadly, she added that , their mother died at the same day their father died ,to mean that , both parents went out of life at the same day, and that they entombed them that same day, 14 March 2022.

Consolèe Mutuyimana continued saying that their mother was pleading that they be given compensation for the pond, which they had developed as a cooperative of vulnerable people from the historically marginalized group, but which was later removed when the Base–Gicumbi road was constructed, and she was requesting that they be paid compensation.

“At the time of that video, the money had not yet been given. She kept pleading with leaders, even saying: ‘Your Excellency the President, fight for us, fight for us…’”

According to Consolèe Mutuyimana, the compensation was eventually paid — the group received 5.5 million Rwandan francs. She added:

“My mother did not die without receiving her share. She ate her money before she passed away.”

Esperance Nyiramajyambere, who continues to trend even in her absence, passed away at the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK), where she had been hospitalized for several days.
