Europe: The trade between EU and Russia, has reached €8.7 billion during first quarter of 2025.
According to Bild (citing the German Economic Institute), the EU imported about €8.7 billion worth of goods from Russia in the first quarter of 2025. Of that, around €4.4 billion was natural gas, and crude oil accounted for roughly €1.4 billion.
The other goods , countries from European Union imported from Russia, are fertilizers, and metals. Although when comparing the trade between EU and Russia after 2022 and before, there is a visible difference, for in 2021 the EU imports from Russia was €158.5 billion, and 95 billion in 2020.
The trade between EU and Russia is happening, as the EU , The European Union signed different sanctions on Russia from 2022,for Ukraine invasion. However, people are shocked to see some EU members still doing trade with Russia as if nothing happens, the thing that purely shows that in politics, the sayings are different from the practices.
The countries of EU that depend on energy as premier resources are the ones to still do trade with Russia, though in the first days, the EU had been saying that , they will find alternatives from other parts of the world, but it seems EU will not totally swipe from Russia’s market.
END.
