Global: Eu has no right to tell us what to do. Rwanda’s foreign minister said.
While some African countries still struggle with the neocolonialism, where their old colonizers still do interfere their internal politics and decision, Rwanda , a small East African landlocked country has reached the point of total independent, where the country never allow anyone from outside to intervene in its politics. Recently EU. European Union has declared that Rwanda must release Madam Victoire Ingabire as soon as possible, but through Rwanda’s foreign minister said that , this cannot be possible for only the justice procedures will decide whether Madam Victoire Ingabire will be released or be sentenced that all will be decided by the court’s decision.
Normally Victoire Ingabire is Rwandan opposition politician woman, but her politics at different times, it was found the politics aims to separate the Rwandans into parts rather than following the unity peace that the leading party FPR set. In 2010, she was sentenced with 15 years in jail for charges of threatening the state security and terrorism. However, in 2018 after serving the 8 years in jail , she was released with other 2000 people , the act of presidential forgiveness to prisoners. She was free but was not allowed to involve in politics in the next five years, including rights to contest in election. However she continued to give out interviews showing her politics side and thoughts.
Recently, in this year , June 19, she was caught by RIB, Rwanda’s investigation body, on charges of inciting the public disorder, trying to make communications to public to revolt, creating or joining the criminal or illegal organization, wanting to plot against state officials.So she and the others in the same case were taken before the justice. Some people, including people who live abroad but had involved in genocide against Tutsi, they shouted that Victoire must be released for she is jailed only for political reasons. And they made some few demonstrations in the countries they live in. And this is also where the EU started to ask Rwanda government to let her out of the jail, but Rwanda insists that she will be present before justice as all other criminals.
