RWANDA and DRC: DRC has ordered the FDRL(Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda) to withdraw from FARDC (Force Armee de la Republique Democratique du Congo) ,and give their weapons to MONUSCO or FARDC.
In the announcement,the FARDC published this last Friday, 10 October 2025, where they asked the fighters of FDLR group to surrender their weapons to MONUSCO or to FARDC , the act that will be followed by their departure back to their home country, Rwanda.
The announcement asks every FARDC soldiers to stop working with any FDLR group and asks everyone who does talk with FDLR fighters to stop it. The announcement says too that , FDLR itself must follow the peace procedures by surrender without waiting for the blood to be shed.
This decision of FARDC is to fullfil the agreement of Rwanda and DRC that was signed by both sides in Washington on 01 October 2025 where the U.S was mediator. And apart from that agreement of 01 October 2025 in Washington, all the days before , the Rwanda side used to mention that in order to find the sustainable peace in DRC and keep good diplomacy between the two countries, first of DRC has to stop any coalition with FDLR.
FDLR group, is the armed group that is made up with some Rwandans who did involve in the Genocide against Tutsi in 1994 and the failed army of Rwanda ExFAR. And ,they say , their main target is to liberate Rwanda ,by overthinking the RPF Inkotanyi , who overthrew them, and stoped the genocide that was being committed against Tutsi.
