Uganda: Hospital doctor, Dr Deo Lukyamuzi Kizito fired for his intentions to contend in 2026 Presidential elections
The hospital doctor , formally worked as a surgeon at Case Medical hospital, Kampala.
As it is written in the letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer of Case Medical hospital, Ronald Akankwasa, the hospital said that is good decision to disengage Dr Deo Lukyamuzi to preserve neutrality.
“Following a meeting you had with our CEO regarding your decision to contest for the position of President, it is essential for Case Hospital to uphold its commitment to professionalism and maintain strict neutrality, avoiding any association with political affiliations or activities.” the letter reads.
“In adherence to this principle, we regret to inform you that we have disengaged you from your current position at the hospital effective immediately.
“We note your contributions and would like to express our sincere gratitude to you for the many years of dedicated service you have rendered to Case Hospital.”
Dr Deo Lukyamuzi, is not new in politics, for in the year 2011, he contended for the mayoral seat and parliament, though he lost to passed Mathius Kasamba. Recently he showed his intentions to bid in 2026 presidential elections, where he promised he will uproot the corruption in the country within six months of assuming the office, channeling recovered funds to health and social services, while also pushing for constitutional amendments to limit presidential powers.
After , the disengagement of Dr Deo Lukyamuzi, the public have wondered how the former order that only requires public servants to resign before involving in politics, they wonder how it can be applied also for private servant.
